AU-SAFGRAD has organized a two days validation workshop on << Guidelines for inclusive Agricultural Value Chains Development (iAVCD) in Africa>> the workshop was hosted with the technical and financial support of the international Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The workshop held at Azage Auditorium at the ILRI campus, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 14-15 September, 2022. It was attended by agricultural and trade/agribusiness experts from AUC, 22 members states, 3 regional economic communities (RECs) and 8 international and Continental Partners’ Organizations involved in value chains development projects in the Continent.
The aim of the workshop was to consider and validate the draft guidelines for inclusive agricultural value chains development (iAVCD) in Africa.
Specifically, the workshop offered the avenue to:
- Present the Guidelines for stakeholders’ consideration and review
- Update the guidelines with any national or regional specific case studies and game changing considerations to enhance representativeness
- Validate the guidelines for the Ministerial consideration
Agree on the domestication and dissemination approaches, post-endorsement as well as supports needed for successful implementation at the regional and national level.
